The Results

After all the research that I have sorted through, I feel that it’s safe to say there are spiritual backgrounds that still remain within the walls of the Stockyards. The testimonies from countless individuals who have embarked on their own personal adventures to seek out answers all seem to come to the same conclusion. There are paranormal things occurring in these buildings. Some may testify that all the occurrences can be explained by some simple solution such as cold spots turning out to be broken AC pipes.

The “orbs” are just dust particles being exposed by the cameras flash. Some are harder to explain such as the many reports of strange noises and apparitions appearing outside the rooms. Whether or not there are truly paranormal ghosts, there to cause harm or to play games, will probably never be resolved, but personally, it is fun to think that there is something that goes bump in the night within the Stockyards.

If I ever take shelter in these rooms, then I would hope these stories would be false, but if they prove me wrong, then at least I will finally know the truth within my own eyes.

Evidence

The proof behind the hauntings in the Stockyards really lies within what the individuals belief is. I have found "proof" that some of the stories told about the numerous buildings within the yards are true. Again, all of the evidence found, no matter how solid or clear, the legitimancy behind them determined by the individual reading this. An investigation team went on multipule outings to investigate the stories about the Stockyards. The team made 3 seperate trips, months apart, to investigate the Stockyard Hotel. On one of these trips, the team used a Ouija board. during this, it is said that the water in the bathroom turned on all by its self. Not only this, but the board seemed to be sending them a message. "Kevin showed the letters to everyone else and we all agreed that it appeared as though the message being sent to us was “LEAVE”. " The Pictures captured in the rooms are what most ppl call "orbs".

Again, this is where the individuals personal outlook comes into play, most who dont believe in orbs simply say that they are dust particles, which they very well could be.

The team also did a few tours of Miss Molly's where the team encountered weird sounds, and a long light streak in a picture which in the room where a cowboy murdeed one of the ladies working there. (Paranormal Investigations.) There are tours given around the numerous buildings, with guides who are more than extatic to show you the numerous EVP's that they have captured, especially those said to be from room 305, where Bonnie and Clyde stayed.(Rimmer, Terri) With these recording, it makes one strongly want to belive that there really are ghosts, famous or not, within the walls of the many haunted buildings in The Stockyards

Stories of Yards

Almost every building in the Stockyards has a long history behind it. Some of these stories involve murders, criminals, and children.

The Stockyard Hotel once serviced the famous duo Bonnie and Clyde. They stayed in room 305. There is said to be paranormal activity happening there, thought to be the spirits of Bonnie & Clyde. Room 218 as well is said to have had some strange occurences going on in there.

Miss Molly's Bed and Breakfast has had its share of strange occurences. In the late 19th century is when this establishment turned away from being a "classy" hotel to the bordello it is know for. The structure still stands today on the second floor of the Star Cafe. Miss Molly's did not have some of the nicest character within its wall which turned out to be not so good for some of the girls working there. Its said that alot of the old workers and owners still walk around the halls, causing alot of activity. Some of the more well knows hauntings include guests seeing a girl around the age of 10.
One maid had decided to quit her job due to a "tipping" ghost. This woman claimed that when she would go to clean the rooms, there would be old coins that had not been there previously. The famous western store Maverick, is said to have a ghost who leaves roses upstairs. Not much else is know about this apparition. I hope to go to these places and see for myself is any of this is true, which I strongly hope is.

Background

The Stockyards was used as a final supply stop for cattle drivers who were taking route on the Chisholm Trail. The stockyards soon became known as "cowtown" due to the than four million head of cattle were trailed through Fort Worth Between 1866 and 1890. The stockyards held Fort Worth offered 37 saloons, 17 blacksmith shops, 24 wagon yards, six hide dealers and seven barbers. (N.F.W.H.S.)  Stockyard Hotel has been open since 1907. The hotel was the largest in the area. The building was originally wooden until 1913 when it was demolished and later rebuilt in brick. Miss Molly's was originally established when there seemed to be a need for a classy hotel for people to stay, but after the years, that didn't not become the case. After about 15-20 years, it was named "The Oasis". The hotel is said to have had some pretty bad customers which turned out not so well for the ladies who worked there.  (Belanger, Jeff).

Proposal

So first blog and after this assignment its gonna be the end of blogging. So I have decided to investigate the supposed huntings in the Fort Worth Stockyards. The Stockyards Hotel is said to be haunted in two of its rooms as well as its kitchen. Miss Molly's is a old brothel that is said to have old coins left around the rooms and some spirits left behind. The old Spaghetti Warehouse is said to have 4 different ghosts including one of an old cowboy who like to throw random stuff at people  which sounds fun to look into. One other story I have heard is that a little girl was brought to work with her dad one day. she was told to go play and got locked in a vault and died.

That last one may be a little creepy to do, but Ill look into it just for you guys. I chose to do these hauntings because ever since I moved here from New York, I have been coming to the stockyards with my family. My nephews love it and its just been a big part in my life so why not learn about all the ghosts and demon children that still live there?
